Eligibility Criteria – HP Administrative Service
- Degree: A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification as laid down in the HPAS official notification.
- Age Limit: The age limit is 21 – 35 years
- Domicile: Candidates born/raised in Himachal Pradesh prior to 5 years from the last date of submission of the application.

Selection Process HPPSC HPAS
The selection process includes the following phases:
Phase 1: Written Exam
Preliminary Examination (Tier-I):
The first test is computer-based. All the questions will be objective type. It questions the candidates in General Knowledge, Mental and Cognitive ability, and english/literature comprehension.
Phase 2: Main Examination
Those who qualified for the Prelims will be able to take the Mains exam, which is another test through a writing examination. The syllabus can include Hindi, Essay Writing, General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh, Law and any other subject purely related to the department of HPAS.
Phase 3: Interview/ Personality test
Interview: The short-listed candidates from the Mains examination shall be required to undergo a personality test and an interview for the post of administrative officer.
